I Do NOT Like Chair Tests

I really, really, REALLY do NOT like chair tests. I, Firefly, again sit 4th or 5th chair. I have not bothered to ask why they still think I'm a worthless player, as that is how they make me feel. They make me feel like I am just as bad as when I had the flu. Isn't that a WONDERFUL thought?

I do NOT like chair tests. So if my best isn't good enough to play 'Star Wars', why am I in book 4 practicing Vivaldi?!?!?And they won't tell me what I did wrong, why I'm so bad at playing ' Star Wars'. If they told me that, I'd still be mad at 5th chair, but at least I'd know what to make sure to practice next time.

Maybe it's because THEY don't know what I did wrong. Maybe it's 'cause they just decided that So and So needed to sit in front of me, and Blah Blah, too, till I was pushed back all the way to fifth.  That's teetering on the line of 2nd violin, and I know it.

What fun.

The Wingfeather Saga

I want to tell you about Andrew Peterson. Yes, the famous songwriter and singer. He has a wonderful story teller in him, and has published three books in his wonderful series, The Wingfeather Saga. The fourth one, called 'The Warden and the Wolf King", will come out * cringe* in 2013. I am going to write him a personal letter screaming at him, telling him to hurry up and finish the 4th and final book.

We are in the last 10 chapters of the third book, 'Monster in the Hollows', and I really shouldn't have this many questions circling my head with ten chapters to go, should I?

Questions like: Why is he a ____________?
Will he die?
AP can't take him out now, just after they found him, can he?
And what is up with______________________?
Why did he betray them??

The spaces are not filled in, as it could spoil some of the amazing twists AP puts in. Just when you think you have it figured out, he pulls a twist that you can't imagine! Like the one last night.

Anyway, so these books follow the lives of three children, Janner, Leeli, and Tink, their mother, Nia, and their ex-pirate grandfather, Podo. It dives, twists, and turns, leaves you on the edge of your seat, and yelling at Peterson to finish the next book. I never would have guessed _______________ would be a _____________! How did he do that? And seriously, IS HE GONNA DIE??!! Wait, don't answer that.

Andrew Peterson, I do not care if you do not know that this blog EXISTS. I am going to tell you it is January, and you tell me the next book comes out in 2013?!!?!?!??!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!??! Dude, I do not like that. HURRY THE NEXT BOOK UP!!!!!!! I AM SERIOUS!!!!!!

My Plan Worked!

Yesterday, I posted about this awesome plan I had for my puffles. Well, it worked.

I got school done at top speed, and then set to work. I had 24 puffles waiting! I quickly made a wall, with space under it. My blue puffles laughed and played on their pillows, purple got her hair done, oranges ate, brown played with a Rubix cube, yellows discussed what to draw, pinks swam, reds got stuck in horse shoes they though were bowling hats, blacks put themselves in a bag, and whites hid together.

You might say I am missing a color. I had a green one, didn't I ? That's the best part. I put him in the half of my contraption and tied the string to the ceiling fan. The first thing my brother said was turn it on. Well, after they looked at my adorable set up, I did. I, Firefly, turned the fan on. I made sure he wasn't going to fall out, then he was off. He shot around my room, having the time of his life. For the first time ever, he was actually flying. We loved it.

Today they have a promise to be taken into a tree and made at home there. My tree, actually, so you know they will be safe. For the first exploit up, only my one green, 2 reds, and 2 pinks are coming, but soon they will all, except maybe white, have the joy of my tree.

I can't wait. This week is just getting better and awesomer than ever!!

My Puffles

Okay, I have a plan that really isn't a plan. I mentioned that I wanted to pamper my puffles in a blog a few posts ago. I never got around to it, but I did start the contraption. Anyway, so I figured out how to do it.

Last night I was over at Mustang's house, and I had so much fun. I wasn't allowed to go outside, I had to stay in Mustang's room, and I had only brought puffles. Doesn't sound like much fun, huh? Well, the key words are Mustang's room and puffles. Another friend, Pickles, was there, too.

We spread out the puffles fairly evenly, then we got STUFF. Mustang would hold something up, like a blanket, a box, a pillow, puffle toys, Frisbees, that sort of thing. If I put my hand in the air, lunged for it, grabbed it, you know, showed that I wanted it, I got it. If Pickles did, she got it.

So after we had our stuff, we got to building. I put a scarf thing up between Mustang's bed and a chair. Then I draped a pillowcase over it. I set my blue puffles up on pillows with their balls. My purple puffle was alone with space to dance, my pink puffles were swimming, my yellow puffle was painting, green was flying, white was hiding, red exploring, brown calculating, orange eating, black murphing. I also had a bucket with a Frisbee holding their toys. It was awesome.

Now what does this have to do with my puffles you ask?  Well, my idea is this.

If it was fun at Mustang's house, how much MORE fun would it be for my puffles if I did it here??? I want to really badly, and I can't wait to get started.

Again, thanks for listening to me blather about puffles.

Joy, Bliss and Happy Days

A window into my life has just opened.

I am practicing violin at my orchestra. My instructor yells, and I sigh. She is telling us that next Monday, today now, we have a chair test on Star Wars, and I may go back to being a second violin if I don't play well enough. Joy.

Fast-Forward to Saturday. Mom's side of the family came over to hang out. From 10:00 A.M to 6:00 P.M. I have to play my violin for them, and I mess up terribly.   Bliss.

Sunday comes around, I wake up with a cold. And now I have to play my chair test with a cold. I can't breathe out of one nostril and I am quite miserable.  HAPPY DAY.

This reminds me that last February I had the flu. We didn't know, we thought it was just a cold. But I had it during an important chair test. I got 5th chair. That is second to last chair. Do you know how excited I am to be playing another important chair test with a 'cold'?

This is an entry, directly from my journal about that chair test.
****************************************************
Feb 21 , Mon
Felt horrible this morning! Didn't move till about 8ish. Didn't eat till lunch. But I have a chair test at orchestra so I can't miss it. Managed school. Don't know how I did in the chair test.

Feb 28, Mon
I, Firefly, am 5th chair. 5th chair!!!! And I was told that's how I played, really badly. It's not my fault I had the flu!
****************************************************
I dread tonight. I really, really do. And I wish my head wasn't full of snot. I really, really, really, really, REALLY do. Really. Will someone switch with me?? ANYONE?!?!?!?!?!?!?

There is good news though. I made a bow with a stick and some rubber bands. It actually works, too. I jumped on a mini trampoline 2,000 times. We finished Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale, one of the best books in the world.

So now you know why I am saying joy, bliss, and happy days.

The Underwater Expedition

Yes, I know, it's more CP (Club Penguin). But I am excited.

There have been rumors of another expedition party, where we will find the magenta puffle. Well, CP has confirmed that on the 26th, only 13 days from now, the Underwater expedition will start. In a post that CP did, they showed some of the awesome things that happened in 2011 in less than a minute, as we are still trying to grasp 2012 in my house. It was cool, and then it showed some shots for the Underwater Expedition.  Also, we now know that Rookie will host it.

Now, I will explain Rookie. He is an EPF agent, and, well, he is just dumb. He made a play, or rewrote it, shall I say. It is called the Twelfth Fish, so in an interview he said, in short " The countess didn't count, and where were the other eleven fish? Then the play pretty much wrote itself." That is a regular smartness level for Rookie. And he is hosting the Underwater Expedition.

Anyway, so far, this is what I know about the Underwater Expedition.
1. It will take us UNDER the island.
2. There will be maze.
3. We will explore caves underwater.

And these are the rumors and the possible proof.
1. We will find the magenta puffle.
Proof: In the video, at the end and not in color, it showed a puffle sign.
2. There will be an underwater village.
Proof: There was a picture that only flashed, but it was a puffle sign, a sign that said spa, and an underwater hut thing.
3.It will start from the Dock, this is the least likely.
Proof: In the video, right before it showed flashes of the expedition, it showed the Dock. I am not sure of this one, but still.

So, you can see that I am kinda excited. I hope you will try making an account on CP.

Blessings,
Firefly

My Least Favorite Vegetable

 B-R-U-S-S-E-L        S-P-R-O-U-T-S

They are so gross, taste like card board plants, and, well, you get my point. I don't like them. Here is a poem I wrote for the brussel sprouts.

Blah!
Blah!
Brussel sprouts in the house!
I'd rather eat a mouse!

Alarm!
Alarm!
I'm headed for fate!
They're on the plate!

Close my eyes,
They're not a prize!
I hope I don't have to eat them!
Maybe my mother will heat them.

AND THEY"LL MELT!!!!

You don't have to agree, but I think they taste gross.

Jesus's Sibling

Being Jesus brother or sister would be really hard.

Sometimes, I would be jealous. I mean, Mom would never get onto him, cause he doesn't do anything wrong!

Other times, I would be really proud. Yeah, my brother was the one who healed the blind man and cast out demons.

Sometimes I might even get mad at him, because he wouldn't play some of my games, or go on some of my adventures, because they were wrong.

Growing up would get harder and harder. Nothing he ever did was rude or mean.  I know that if he were "just a brother", he would be much like Creator's Son.

Would you be yelling "Jesus! Kill Jesus! Kill my brother!" In the crowd at the Crucifixion?

Club Penguin

Club Penguin is a really fun online game where you have a penguin avatar. You play games to earn money and stamps. If you are a member, you can buy clothes and more colors of puffles, which I will explain in a minute. If you are a non-member, you can't BUY clothes, but you can pick up free items, buy backgrounds, and buy different colors for your penguin. You can have buddies, and go to other people's igloos. You can even buy furniture and decorate your own igloo, if you are a member.

If you get 800 coins while playing the various games on the island, you can buy a fluffy companion called a puffle. They come in ten colors: Blue, red, purple, black, yellow, green, pink, white, orange, and brown.  ( but I hope we will find more. I will explain momentarily ). In the picture at the top of my blog, the pink fluffy things are pink puffles. Unfortunately, non-members can only adopt blue and red.  What I mean by I hope we will find more, is the fact that three years ago, '09 and my first year of CP, during the annual Puffle Party, ( another thing to explain in a moment) sightings of a white puffle came pouring in. The next month, they were available for adoption. Two years ago, during the annual Puffle Party, an orange puffle was sighted. Again, the next month they were up for adoption. Last year, during a Wilderness Expedition,  the path lead to a brown puffle cave, were you could adopt a brown puffle for free and take it home. This year, I hope to find a magenta/ hot pink puffle. The reason that may happen is because the Puffle Party sign seems to have a code. In the word 'party' the letters go white, orange, brown, magenta. They so far have been found in that order, but it is just a myth.

Sometimes, Club Penguin is just an island floating in the water, though a lot of times, they are hosting a party, like the Puffle Party. The Puffle Party is a celebration of puffles and by far, my favorite party. Very soon, another party is coming. It seems that it will be a Sea Expedition, as the Penguin Style (Clothes magazine)  points to.  They throw a party for all the holidays (Christmas, April Fool's Day, Saint Patricks day, etc.)  and they host made up ones like the Expeditions. This possible Sea Expedition will be the fourth. They have had Cave, Mountain, and Wilderness Expeditions. They had a ninja party in November, all sorts of fun things. Also, parties are a great place to find free things. Go around the rooms and look for buckets with stuff in them, walk up to one, and click yes if you want whatever is in the buckets.

There are famous penguins that come to visit every once in a while. If you meet one, they will give you a background with them and their name signed. Rockhopper is a pirate that brings free stuff,  Aunt Artic is a newspaper writer ( yes, we have a newspaper). Rookie is a weird EPF agent, Cadence is a DJ that loves to dance, there is the Penguin Band, and Sensei.

Last but not least, you can be a few things. After your penguin is 40 days old, you can take a test and become a tour guide (gets 250 coins a month), you can play Card-Jitsu at the Dojo and become a ninja , and if you are a member you can try to become a water or fire ninja. You can also take a test and become an EPF agent. They bring in 250 or 350 a month.

Otherwise, make a penguin, waddle around, discover, and have fun!

Some of My Favorite Songs

I have been listening to some of my very favorite songs, which are available on Youtube. Here are just a few (Plus a puffle video Mustang will want to see..)

Dixieland or "I wish I was in the Land of Cotton". You will have to type in "I wish I was in the Land of Cotton" to find it. During the Civil War, it was the Confederate anthem.

Another favorite song is Marvellous Light by Charlie Hall. It is very inspiring and it shows God's love for His children. To find, you will have to put the author's name.

I like, or more like love, This is Eternal Life by Tommy Walker. Also very inspiring, with a good message. To find, you will have to put the author's name.

I enjoy Starry Night by Chris August. Very good song, good tune, and great message. To find you will have to put the author's name.

Reflection by Rick Pike is great, but I don't think it is available on Youtube yet, sorry. It has an amazing and humbling message. It shows amazing truth, and God's glory.

Indescribable by Chris Tomlin has truth coming out all sides. It is all about God's glory, and really amazing.  To find, you will have to put author's name.

These are not in order, I wrote them as I thought of them. Please take the time out of your day to listen to at least one of them.

And last but not least, that puffle video for Mustang. It is adorable! See if you can spot the orange puffle while they are feeding.. It is hard!

Blessings,
Firefly

Puffleness!

Yesterday, I promised my 24 puffles that I would pamper them all the way through February. Getting two brown puffles put me in the puffle mode and also, every February, CP puts on a Puffle Party. Even though it is only the 5th of January, I am super excited.

So, now I have to figure out how really to pamper them. I want to make it where they are having fun, so I need ideas.

Earlier today, our power flashed and I knew who to blame.
Me: Trig, Geo, were you playing with our power cables?
Them: Nooooo.
Me: Then did you overload a circuit?
Trig: Well, it was almost-
Me,cutting him off: Trig, it is a yes or no question. Did you or not?
Geo: Probably, but-
Me,cutting him off: It is not a yes, no, or maybe question. Yes or no?
Trig: Yes, but-
Geo, cutting him off: We didn't think "Cheese Whiz" would  hurt anything....

I am trying to figure out how to make a contraption. It would have two half circles, hollowed so a puffle could sit on them. Each one would have two holes, one in each side. I would tie a string in the holes, so now one has one piece of string across the top. Then, a long piece of string would be tied to the one across the top. Repeat the action on the other one, then, with the same piece of long string, tie the two together and hang the long string in the middle across a doorknob.

I hope no one minds listening to me gush about puffles....

Two Brown Puffles and a Something in My Stocking

When Christmas morning finally arrives, who isn't excited? I know I am.

This Christmas I got some of the things I really wanted, like a program for my computer called Stellarium, which is a star program, a book called Cloud's Legacy, which is about a wild stallion, a camera, and all sorts of other things. But I still didn't get a brown puffle, the one thing I really, REALLY wanted.

So, I ordered the cheapest one they had after Christmas. I was told it would arrive the 3rd or the 4th. A couple hours after ordering, my friend HR called to say that she had bought an identical one at Target for 7 bucks instead of 20. She also had a Christmas present for me. I was worried what it might be. An identical puffle to the one I had ordered.

Upon opening it, I found I was right, and would become the owner of twin brown puffles. Guess how thrilled I was. To add to this story, our rental on our P.O. Box hadn't been paid yet, so on the 3rd, yesterday, when it was open for the first time since, oh, about the 28th, we paid and checked the mail. He wasn't there, and I was heartbroken. "What am I gonna do, Geo?" I asked the brown puffle I had. I named him Geo for geometry.

Mom said that on our way to the park, where we would meet and play with Bertha and Mustang, we could check to see if he was there then, but I doubted it. Sighing and disappointed, we made our way home.

Geo and his calculator
The twins, with Geo on left and Trig on right
When it was time to leave, I tried not to hope to much. I knew he wouldn't be there, but I had to check. All but holding my breath as I unlocked the door... My eyes nearly bulged out of my head at the sight. All that was in the P.O Box was one package. To me. I let out a silent scream and raced back to the car and ripped the package open.  I was then and there qualified the Proud Owner of Twin Brown Puffles.
