JCPA

It's me again, Firefly the procrastinator. Oh wait, it's been less than a month since I last blogged! Go me!

So THIS time, I went back to JCPA (Junior Citizen Police Academy). It was really fun, but very different (for many reasons, one being Mustang NOT BEING THERE *poke poke*). Another reason for it being so different was because we really didn't do as much stuff as we did last year.We did mock traffic stops (evil laughter) and we saw a firetruck... And we toured the S.O.U (my little town's version of SWAT) van... And that's about it. We spent most of the time reading in the classroom.

But when we did do something fun, it was totally worth it. With the fire truck, we learned that one of the littler ones can carry 400-500 gallons of water! We also got to try firefighter gear on, and some people (I won't mention that one was one of my friends) tried running with it on or even doing pushups in it! We also learned what kind of tools they carry with them in the truck.

With the S.O.U van, we split into two groups. The first group went into the van while the other group stayed outside and tried on gear/tried carrying the ram or shield. After the first group finished going through the van and the other group all finished trying on the gear, we switched and group one tried on gear and group two went through the van.

With the gear, SOME people again tried running in the gear.... But us smart people didn't. The shields and the rams were extremely heavy and I must assume that we looked very interesting/disturbing to the people driving by.... But that's beside the point.

The inside of the van was very cool, what with the less lethals and all the other types of gear.

After we ALL finished inside the van and ALL finished trying on gear, the S.O.U guy divided guys into two teams. We were supposed to enter the building like S.O.U people and find the suspect. Our team went first, and we found the suspect. The other team failed. Epically.

And lastly, the traffic stops. That was soooooo fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was the first officer, with one of my friends as my backup. One of my other friends was the one we 'pulled over'. It was absolutely hilarious... When we asked his name, he said "Bruce Wayne" and the other guy in the car snickers and says "Yeah and I'm Brad Pitt."

After a little while, everyone that was in the 'pulled over' car would take off running as soon as the lights came on. It was super fun!!! And let's just say no one could catch me.......

I also got handcuffed by someone, and I'm never letting them handcuff me again! He couldn't figure out how to get them off of me! He tightened them (accidentally, while trying to get them off), and then said "Hey Firefly, is your hand supposed to be this color...??" That was my favorite day of all ten day, even if I did almost have to mutilate someone. (He did finally get them off).

It was very different this year, seeing as I was an alumni. The other three alumni and I had to go make games (mostly scavenger hunt type things) for the cadets. My favorite game that we made, we actually had 6 people in on the making of it. 2 of us were suspects and the other 4 were hostages. After telling them how to play,we went and his in our assigned rooms. I was as suspect, and was told that when they found me, I could run if I wanted to. The same guy that handcuffed me said "Maybe we should get someone else cuz I bet they could catch you pretty quick". (This was the day before our traffic stops). I just grinned and said "I bet there is one person who could actually catch me".

Well, they didn't find me until about 20 minutes later, but when they finally did, I was right. The one person I thought could catch me did catch me.

All in all, these two weeks were SUPER fun, and I'm glad I got the chance to go back and do it again.

The Rodeo and Mustang!

Nope, still haven't disappeared off the face of the earth yet!

So, 2 weeks ago (*cringe* A long time, I know), Nana and I went to the rodeo in Bandera by way of two VERY generous friends (the owners of Bear and Quest) who bought us box tickets for ALL THREE nights!!!!

Friday, the first night, was awesome. We almost didn't get to go the first night, though. It rained ALL of Thursday night, and all of Friday morning and all the way up to about 3 pm. It still looked ominously rainiful (I know, not a word, but :P) over towards Bandera. But, being us, Nana and I went anyway. In the distance, right over Bandera, it looked really black. In fact, we got rained on while we were driving. But we kept going... and it yielded great results!!!! It was actually BEAUTIFUL right over Bandera; the only real blue spot in all of the sky! So the rodeo went on, and it was AWESOME!!! The clown act wasn't NEAR as grand as last year (the Wild Child act) or the year before (a trick riding act), but was still entertaining. All of the horses were so gorgeous, too! In fact, during the barrel racing, one of the horses Mustang used to own raced! I was totally in awe. That night was really fun and super awesome.

The next morning, we were called by Mustang's mom. She said that she was coming to drop Mustang by the house for a little while (only like 45 minutes). She did, and Mustang and I walked around outside, doing our normal 'both start talking, both pause, both say go ahead, both go ahead and talk at the same time' over and over. Finally we decided to go back to the house and play Wii a little bit. We did so, and it was hilarious! She didn't really know what she was doing, so she was always saying things like "How do I move?!?!? Oh, I got it... wait, how to I jump? Is that a cliff?" right before jumping off the cliff.  It was hilarious. But all too soon, her mom came to pick her up. But we learned that she had a 99% chance of going to the rodeo with us that night!!! We also learned that at some point later that day, my mom (who was also in town with Creator's Son and my dad) would call us because they had called her and told her to come to the hotel and go swimming with them. Well, we knew that it would be at least an hour to two. After about three hours (and it was approaching 1pm), Nana and I were beginning to get worried, as they hadn't called yet, and for us to go to the rodeo, we had to be able to leave at like, a quarter to six. And even if they called RIGHT THIS INSTANT, Mom and Dad still had to get over here, we had to get over to the hotel, we had to get changed, and THEN we could get in the pool. And then we would swim for at least two hours, and.... well let's just say the numbers were depressing.

But then they DID call, at like 1:30! And said... that in about half an hour, to come and go swimming. So we went to a book store while we waited. We FINALLY went over to their hotel and swam (at about 2), and splashed, and it was SUPER FUN!!!!! After about 2 and a half hours of swimming, we went back up to the room, got in our dry clothes, and proceeded to watch some 'How It Should Have Ended' videos (at 4:30 or so). After about another 30 minutes in the room, we left!! We got to Nana's at about 5:15, with plenty (ok, not really, but enough) time to spare. We got there, made sure we were ready to go, and pretty much left for the rodeo.

Once we got there, Mustang and I seriously opened the car door and shot out to see the horses. We spent so long at the first pen, taking pictures, and picking out which horses we wished were ours. Together, we took over 200 pictures. At every pen, we would pick out which horses we wished were ours, took pictures, and talked and laughed. After a really long time spent looking at horses and taking pictures, it was finally time to go sit down and the rodeo to begin. It did, and it was EPICAL!!!!! (Also technically not a word, but :P) We were still busy picking out horses we wished were ours. Once, the clown climbed up right next to us. I was on the end closest to where to he was climbing up. It was weird..... anywho (which ALSO is not a word. D:), so Mustang and I watched the show, totally enraptured. It was EPIC. But then it was over.

Mustang spent the night at Nana's, and in the morning, we took her to breakfast and then to church with us. Her mom picked her up from church before it started, though. After church and lunch, they called, and they came back to Nana's house! Mustang and I went outside again. We walked and talked and ran for a long while, then we went back to the house and went in the back bedroom and watched some YouTube videos. Then Mustang was going to have to leave, to go to her Mimi's house. But then she asked if I could come as well, and I could! I went, and we played one of our many games for a long while before we were called up and to leave. I was dropped off at Nana's, and like that, they were gone. But it was rodeo time one last time!

This time, it had rained all morning, and the arena was like sand; there were rivers running through it, and it was so soaked! But everything went on as normal. It was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  And....... it was Haywire's night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything went awesomely, but it ended way too soon.

So that is part one of what I have recently been doing! Stay tuned for part two (hopefully soon)!
